FC Barcelona and Arsenal FC will participate in the U-12 Junior soccer world challenge 2017!
U-12 JUNIOR SOCCER WORLD CHALLENGE 2017 Steering Committee (Amazing Sport Lab Japan Co., Ltd.)(Headquater: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, the president: Mitsuru Hamada) and Tokyo Football Association will hold the U-12 JUNIOR SOCCER WORLD CHALLENGE 2017 from 24th to 27th of August in 2017. (Venue: Tokyo Verdy ground (24th-26th), Ajinomoto Nishigaoka field (27th))
This year, 24 teams will compete in the tournament, which is a much larger number than the 16 teams that participated in last year’s tournament. In attendance, there will be last year’s tournament champion, FC Barcelona, who have come to Japan 5 times in 5 consecutive years. Also, the big team from the English Premiership, Arsenal FC, Guangzhou R&F Football Club (China), Dunedin Technical (New Zealand) , the champion of the Qualifying League or tournament in North America, 9 teams from the J-league youth Qualifying League and 5 teams from local clubs Qualifying will join. Compared to the tournament last year, it is on a much bigger scale this year.
Also, from this year children from local Japanese teams, who were selected via the selection process for this tournament, will get the opportunities to play against top-level youth teams from both international and professional Japanese teams.
In addition, in order to provide the right to participate in this tournament for many teams, the Qualifying tournaments have been held in North America (22nd -25th, July) and Japan (The Qualifying tournament in 5 areas in Japan).

Teams are composed of players who were born after 1st of January 2005.
《Competition format》
- 11players
- In qualifying league, all 24 teams will be divided into 6 groups. The teams that finish first in their respective groups will move on to the final of the tournament. However, two highest second placed teams from the 6 groups will also move onto the final with the other 4 second placed teams being eliminated
《Game duration》
The Qualifying league: 20 minute halves (5 minute intervals)
The semi finals, the third place play off and the final: 25 minute halves (10 minute intervals).
The quarter finalｓ: 25 minute halves (5 minute intervals)
The order finals: 15 minute halves (5 minute intervals)
